Completed Programme

IOM Security Awareness Training for UNICEF. IOM conducts two day SAT training for all UNICEF offices in the Middle East and North Africa Regions.

IOM provided Security Awareness Training (SAT) for 7 UNICEF offices throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region. Each course was tailored to the specific security environment of the country office concerned.  SAT provided UNICEF staff with enhanced security awareness training to enable them to carry out their work whilst minimizing personal risk to themselves and colleagues.

The SAT course consisted of two days of theoretical and partial practical training in areas such as radio protocol and use, how to respond in various scenarios including ambush, hijacking, hostage taking and medical emergencies.

A total of 249 UNICEF staff members received SAT completion certificates.  All staff members who successfully completed the SAT training demonstrated an enhanced knowledge of security awareness.

SAT training was presented at the Inter Agency Security Management Network  (IASMN) as best practice for UNICEF Security for the years 2005 and 2006
